Oil Painting artist, CAROL HALLOCK lives in a home on stilts on Bayou Lacombe in Louisiana. She often paints the surrounding bayou and marsh from her kayak. "Geraldine", the egret is often a favorite subject. Born and raised in Baton Rouge and a graduate of Louisiana State University, Carol loves the unique beauty of her homeland.

Carol has received many awards in recognition of her work, including magazine articles and covers, "Best of Shows" and purchase awards. Frank Davis , a television personality of Channel 4 in New Orleans featured Carol on his "Naturally N'Awlins" television show in March 2009. Recent magazine articles are the April 2009 issue of Baton Rouge's "Town Favorites" magazine and 2006 "City Social". Her oil painting, Tag a Long" was featured in May 2009 on the cover of "Country Roads" and in 2006 Peek a Boo" was on the cover of "Inside/Northside' . Her art instruction DVD, released in June of 2009 entitled, "Painting loose in oils" can be purchased and is shown on Channel 10.

Since 2001, Sunset Marketing has published and nationally marketed a selection of prints of her originals.

Acclaimed for her use of expression and color, Carol has gained widespread respect for her evocative regional, nautical, swamp and tropical scenes. In addition to commissioned and studio work, she teaches and works in the local art community when time allows. Her originals can be seen at Elizabethan Gallery in Baton Rouge, La., Oak Street Gallery in Hammond, La., Negrottos in Mississippi, L2 Gallery in Seaside, Florida, Sofas and Chairs in New Orleans and in her Lacombe studio.
